No it isn't. Pining after someone who has been gone for a few days is certainly nto how it ought to be. Grow a backbone you sappy lot! Though it winds me up less if it's a woman, blokes whinging about their other halves being gone for a few days get on my nerves, my mate didn't go to a gig for a band he likes once because he was upset his GF was away on business for 2 weeks

It's always easier to be the one who goes away than one who is left behind, I've found. Because when you are away, it's not the normal routine and you aer busy doing other things in the main.

I still miss my other half when she's away. It's great when she gets back mind. Almost makes up for it.

I think this thread evolved from specific singledom to affairs of the heart in general a long time ago. That being the case I don't think it's unreasonable for people to discuss how they feel without having to conform to any expectations that other's might have. I think it's great to miss someone to the point you feel a bit lost. It ensures that you don't take your partner for granted for one thing.
