Borderlands is alright, but I put it down a little while back, and don't have much desire to pick it up again really at the moment. Probably will eventually.

Just bought Bioshock 2 (PC) off direct2drive for £2.49. Couldn't really say no for that price, but still need to complete the first after starting again for the 3rd time. Got about 3/4s in twice but ended up having to reinstall after 1) old computer breaking down & 2) formatting and reinstalling windows 7 on release day on my I7, but somehow forgetting to copy the savefile. :(

Otherwise, been amassing huge amount of hours playing Shogun 2 and also played and completed Machinarium over the weekend which was delightful. Not overly long, but very sweet/cool point and click adventure. Recommended if see it cheap.

edit: oh, and also which was pretty sweet. Bioware promotion that anyone who bought Dragon Age 2 (any format which as before I did on a blindbuy), got a free download of Mass Effect 2 (PC). Never got around to getting ME2 and was in part waiting for a GOTY edition, but for free is pretty awesome. Guessing DA2 isn't selling to expectation. Still not really played it yet over than 15 minutes to check out the combat system, as finally completed Origins last week and getting through Awakenings first.

I've been playing the f**k out of Need For Speed:Hot Pursuit, Ive put over 22 hours in so far, and am absolutely loving it. racer or cop career, they are both immense fun, and what I thought was a very steep learning curve was actually just about right, the only events I dont enjoy are the "rapid response" events where you have to reach a callout in a specified time with penalties for not being careful. the balls out hot pursuits and races are f**king brilliant. and the cars are awesome.

Highly highly recommended, I reckon you can pick it up for peanuts by now - cex are listing it at £20, bargain IMHO. my only criticism is that the soundtrack is a bit gash for my musical tastes.

I love Hot Pursuit. Criterion can do no wrong in my eyes, I don't remember the last time I didn't love something they made. I polished off every single player event in 3 days, I couldn't put it down.

Cex list it for £20 because it's an EA game and as such the online features are locked, I don't know how much extra they cost to get back but it's been around £5-£10 for some games I've seen. IMO the online elements of NFS are what make it so attractive to return to for so long.

Have you played the last event of the racer missions yet? I can't remember if it was 13 or 18 minutes long. The whole

map in one time trial. It was EPIC! :D

Nope, I'm on ps3. The broken xbox is still waiting for my attention.

I went through the game not moving on until I had the gold on everything. Just need to max out my bounty levels online.

Car choice is pretty important but much like all racing games it just requires persistence but when it's so much fun, who cares? :)

Should get Socom 4 in a few days... been playing the beta for the past 3 weeks. Think I racked up 70 odd hours on just two maps 0_o.

Not sure if I'd recommend it to most, for a Socom fan it's absolutely brilliant imo, but it's also doing a lot to try get that COD respawn crowd and that side of things just felt boring and generic. If you're tired of respawn, first person, killstreak shooters then Socom is definitely worth a look in. Much more team based, plays a lot more slow paced in classic mode with rounds instead of respawn.

It's out this Thursday but is shaping up to be a very low-key release. Shaping up good though.

Got my lovely slimline PS3. So good! Got Heavy Rain, Little Big Planet 2 and Dead Space 2 with it in the deal. Not played any of them yet.

Might trade in LBP2 (I'm never gonna make anything - for me its like me paying to do overtime), a couple of XBox games I'm not playing and the last of my Wii shit and get Uncharted 1 & 2 and I really want Wipeout Fury just because it looks so gorgeous and vivid. Not really interested in a single grey shooter besides maybe Battlefield 3, which I honestly hope destroys Call Of Duty. Yes it's another man-bro-chav game but this actually looks like it's trying to innovate and move the genre forward rather than exploit it because it's in the zeitgeist (well, it's kinda doing that aswell). They're taking on the COD monster head-on which shows you how confident they are that Activision won't have anything anywhere near as good as this up their sleeve - and I'd agree with that.

Seen this? The music is brilliant.

I just saw this and thought....yeah....this year I become a PC gamer again.

Anyone know of any good games that have just come out or are being released in the near future? I haven't bought a game for months. Should I get Bad Company 2 even though it's kinda old? On 360 btw.
