One thing i didnt ask, what are you looking for and expecting from a festival ?

Glastonbury is very different to Leeds for example

Just bought tickets for this. Only about 30 miles away, should be good!

Depens what bands youd like to see. glastonbury has everything from mainstream bands to smaller lesser known bands, but also has a hell of a lot more entertainment than just the bands. the secret garden party is a much smaller festival with lesser known bands. personally if i was coming over for one festival itd have to be glastonbury. that was my first definite, just got tickets to the garden party aswel.

on a different note, yes, glastonbury would be the best for a first-time uk festival. its bound to be worth it, as there are so many different experiences. try looking on youtube for videos of personal experiences =)
