William of Walworth
If the forecast doesn't change i think the hot cider will be very popular this year.

Swindlebiscuit
The 18:18 pm update (Monday) for Blandford Forum should only be checked if you're feeling very brave indeed .... I remain a tad sceptical for now about these extreme fluctuations in Metcheck's output, however .... remember their habit of downgrading extreme rainfall totals the closer to the forecast date you get. gwenstefni
The small but perfectly formed End of the Road Festival returns to the delightful setting of the Larmer Tree Gardens in Cranbourne Chase. Amongst the excellent line up this year is British Sea Power.Other highlights across three stages include Calexico, Bon Iver, Mercury Rev, Robyn Hitchcock, Zombie Zombie and The Mountain Goats. The event also offers film screenings, comedy and open mic stages and prides itself on its organic, local food and selection of good beers. There is a separate family camping area and puppet shows, face painting and arts and crafts to keep children well entertained. ----------------------- Gwen Guaranteed ROI
Swindlebiscuit
Gwen makes a good and informative point, and which of us couldn't do with guaranteed ROI? I for one hope Gwen has a wonderful festival.

William of Walworth
Anyway, the chances of rain on Saturday are an unencouraging 100%. Leave the car at home; take a boat. Medina
is the King John Hotel in Tollard Royal any good to pop in for a drink?
marooned
Now we're talking - LOCAL(ish) PUBS THE DROVERS at Gussage St.Michael - takes some finding but hard to beat HORTON INN and DRUSILLA'S are further on in the same general direction THE INN ON THE CHASE back on the main Salisbury/Blandford road MUST surely be the closest, but I ain't been in it! Swindlebiscuit
Not sure where you're getting that from ... latest is more encouraging than that. ANYWAY I have a new question ....... Is there a general shop on the site selling newspapers (especially!), snacks, essential bits and pieces, etc.?
William of Walworth
That's a shame, hope they rectify that this time. LOTS of people like to see the Sat and Sun papers at a festy. Thanks too for the pub info folks -- we have no car this time, so the Tollard one will be the one to try.

geofelgie
Perhaps we also need a separate list for those lonely folk wishing to huddle for warmth on the campsite? I'll be on that one too.

Heddwch
OK, a few pages ago the idea of having a little forum gathering on Thursday evening was raised and a few expressed interest. Perhaps we also need a separate list for those lonely folk wishing to huddle for warmth on the campsite? I'll be on that one too.
geofelgie
I'm up for a meet at the campsite on the Thursday. After the stewarding meeting finishes I doubt there will be a lot to do on-site so a thread meet and few beers would be most agreeable. Yokel Again
Festival rule no.1 - always throw your wellies in the back of the car just incase! Can't wait for this now, although obv i would enjoy blazing sunshine, as long as it's not peeing down 24/7 it will be great. Haven't been before but really looking forward to it. Mmmmm...
