End of the road festival 2008

Hey EndoftheRoaders!

I was there last year but can't make it this time unfortunately. Of the fests I did last year this was my favourite, a really chilled out vibe, some wonderful food and drink on offer - and the Bimble Inn, what better way to finish each day!

A large portion of the crowds seem to disappear after dark (families I think) which means you can get a cracking view for the headliners - I was pretty much front centre for SFA last year and only wandered down there 10mins before they came on.

Camping was awesome, masses of space between tents in the main campsite, in fact enough space to have a good game of cricket if I remember!

Make sure you go for a good wander in the woods and a singalong by the piano, and look out for the 'Lord of the Manor', he seemed to be enjoying the music with a nice bottle of wine on the Saturday last year from his 'folly' at the rear of the main stage. And don't miss the peacocks and parrots!

Just hope for the sun shines for you all - if not there's always...

Is the programme informative about the bands?

I'm not likely to have enough time to check em out on line now, and there's a fair few I'm not aware of.

Of course random chance also will play iits part -- I only have a few 'definitely must sees'

Hello endoftheroaders!

My boyfriend and I are searching for any empty seats travelling from Brighton to End of the Road festival in North Dorset (Salisbury way).

Are you a spare seat? Is your owner travelling that way on thursday evening or friday morning? (or even - are you travelling back to brighton on sunday night or monday morning)

If yes to any of the above, and if you would like us to fill you, we would happily share petrol/travel costs with your driver.

We're working at the festival and so would ideally leave on thursday night but any offers will be seriously considered as two train tickets plus taxis are beyond our budget..

Thanks for reading, I hope we'll get there somehow.. have a great festival!

don't suppose anyone has any idea what conditions are like underfoot at the moment....forecast looks pretty fair, 'just wondering if the worst of the recent rain is likely to have drained away? 'cant decide whether to invest in a new pair of wellies or not? Seem to remember it was rock hard 12 months ago.

Last year the ground was so hard we couldn't get the tent pegs in - don't think it will be the same this year though!

Deb has made a late and reluctant decision to come by car after all. The shuttle service that EoTR run, from Salisbury, is for all intents and purposes fully booked** and without a car we would have to travel so much more lightly than normally. No chairs!! Limited booze for the campsite!! etc.

**Come on EoTR people -- this should have been flagged on the website don't you think? That most coaches were booked up!

Tis a real shame that she has to drive when we'd been planning to make it all public transport, but ...... that's life!

Absolutely - Always take your wellies - you can leave them in the car if you don't need them

Hmmmmmmm.....been to 30ish festivals and never owned a pair of wellies!

Tried one on once......decided there was no way I could dance in them! I just wear old trainers, mud makes them waterproof y'know.

Hello can anyone help ? I'm being really thick here, but I know that a few days ago the timetable for all the bands appearing was on the EOTR festival website and now I can't find it ! Can anyone tell me which section of the site it was on or provide a link to it ?

I don't know how recent this is, but here's an "update" on the website:

"UPDATE

Thank you to all of you who emailed us with your bus preferences. We have considerably increased our bus provision as a result. Those who emailed will receive priority, but we have enough capacity for everyone to get there and get back!"

I like to think it is more likely to be End of the Brown, than Brown of the Road!

But please take everything you can for any eventuality.

I look forward to seeing you all there. I'll probably miss you all again like i did last year....
