Phone them up and ask them. This is good on several fronts, makes you look keen, gives you stuff to talk about in the interview, makes you look compitant and will make you stick in there head!

Wasnt there a number to phone on the job discription?

You dont phone up and say "I dont get this job whats up?" You phone up and say "I was wondering if you had more infomation" or find something to ask a question about and then they will basicly tell you what the job intails and more or less what they want you to say, including the "buzz words" they want to hear, in the interview. Worked for me...

Sometimes after an interview you can think "What a load of crap they talked", but I always use to take what they said on board, and they may be right. Only you know.

I find it really hard as a middle aged graduate, especially as I just want blue collar work, and I am constantly told I am over qualified and will get bored. Surely it is up to me to decide that, as I don't want any responsibilty, or anything that will affect my festivals

Well done you anyway :O

I know what you mean with regard to where you pitch yourself. I have the opposite problem in that I find it hard to judge if I'm pitching myself at jobs that are way above what I'm qualified/experienced for. It's a pickle!
