A bump to say I finally (MONTHS later) got a contract, and start on Thursday. I'm panicking already.

A quick question - I haven't received P45 from last job yet as I'm technically employed up to the 31st August. Do I just get emergency taxed until I get one?

Got straight back into applying for jobs now I'm back at work. I've already almost completed my first application. Today is only my first day back :P

Hopefully it won't be yet another year spent jumping through hoops and typing/talking bullshit. It's a good job I have an active social life!!!

Cool. Got mine in just in time, I should be in with a decent chance since it's internal.

Does anybody know, when writing references for other people, if I haven't actually employed that person do I have to say so?? It says I can leave sections blank if I'd sooner ignore them, but I don't want to hinder my pals chances. He's got the job, but I guess it is subject to suitable references?

Knackers!

Ah well, some managers don't WANT to be helped innit..

In a similar position myself. Awaiting the outcome of an internal interview this week. Better money, summat slightly more interesting and a change. Good as a rest so they say.

Sadly me and the world and his wife applied. :D

We'll see I guess, but I'm pessimistic till life proves me wrong!
