Download headliners officially confirmed

As expected following leaks in the press on Sunday, Linkin Park are now officially confirmed as the second headliner for this year Download Festival at Donington Park, Leicestershire, alongside Metallica (who confirmed themselves on their website a while back).

Linkin Park are headlining on Saturday 5th June, and Metallica are headlining on Sunday 6th June. Further bands and other attractions will be announced soon.

After last years first Download Festival at Donington, there's to be a Download in Scotland too (see here for the main info). Taking place at Glasgow Green until 10:30pm on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd June, they'll be four bands each night from the Donington line-up (rather than being a repeat of the whole event). Metallica play on 2nd June, while Linkin Park perform on 3rd June.

Tickets for Download 2004 go on sale Friday 30 January from 9am through the usual outlets. Prices are as follows (plus booking fees/postage):
Donington
£80 for the weekend, £95 weekend and camping. Due to the overwhelming demand for Campsite Plus last year Download have introduced the £5 upgrade for Loaded Camping which includes hot showers,cloakroom, attended toilets and access to Club Kerrang! in the Download Café (limited capacity). There will also be the 'Upload VIP Package' which includes: Secure parking, Private VIP campsite with mains toilet, shower and catering facilities, exclusive entrance to festival, preferential access to Club Kerrang! at the Download Café (limited capacity), access to backstage guest hospitality area, with cash bar facilities, Download goodie bag, event Programme, stylised VIP pass for each guest.
