There's to be a new band stage at V Festival this year, with the idea of giving - in the words of V Festival Director, Bob Angus - "talented but lesser known acts a dedicated platform to introduce their new sounds to music lovers". Acts to appear on the new band stage are yet to be confirmed.

V Festival takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park, Staffordshire over the weekend of 21st/22nd August 2004, with the line-up swapping sites on the different days.

The confirmed line-up so far includes headliners The Strokes, and Dido, as well as Muse, Pixies, Pink, Snow Patrol, Keane, Massive Attack, Kings of Leon, Primal Scream, N*E*R*D, Athlete, Faithless, The Thrills, Badly Drawn Boy, Jet, Jamelia, and Jamie Cullum. V Festival at Hylands Park in Chelmsford has now sold out of all camping tickets. Camping tickets are still available for Weston Park in Staffordshire but these are selling fast too. Day passes and weekend passes without camping are still available for both festival sites.

Tickets are priced at: weekend with camping £98.50; Weekend no camping £82.50; Saturday or Sunday day tickets £46.50. Tickets for both sites are available from SEETICKETS (was WayAhead) here.
