System of a Down are set to play at the Download Festival at Donington, Leicestershire, on Sunday 12th June according to new tour dates posted on their official website.

They've been hotly tipped to play since they previously announced European dates around the time of Download, but this seems to confirm it.

Rumours are circulating on other acts that might be appearing, and these include Velvet Revolver, Guns N Roses, Slayer, Marilyn Manson and AC/DC.

In other news, eFestivals believes that they'll be no Download Scotland this year, although this isn't confirmed.

There's been no official announcements for Download as yet - the first announcements for this year's Download are expected within the next two weeks.
