Latitude - the new festival with more than just bands - which takes place at Henham Park Estate in Suffolk from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th July 2006 has announced more of the entertainment across the weekend.
Joining the line-up is the legendary Patti Smith, who performs on the Saturday in the Live Music Arena 1 with Lenny Kaye and will also appear in the Stand-up Poetry Tent on the Sunday. The Lemonheads play on the Friday, and José Gonzalez and Mystery Jets will perform on the Sunday.
Live Music Arena 3 will feature up and coming acts such as Larrikin Love, Howling Bells, The Organ, Polytechnic, Mr Hudson, and Tiny Dancers, along with the previously announced Scissors For Lefty, 1990's, and The Pipettes.
Robin InceÂ’s Book Club will see performances from Josie Long (BBC new Comedy Award Winner, Chortle Best New Act), Wil Hodgson (Perrier Best Newcomer 2004), fabulous twisted poet Tim Key, Gary Le Strange (Perrier Best Newcomer 2003), Neil Edmond (from The Consultants, Perrier Best Newcomers 2002 and with their own Radio 4 series), Caroline Clifford and her revenge comic books, The Trap, The Phil Jeays Band and more.
There's more comedy from the likes of Jason Manford, Perrier Award nominee Dan Antopolski, Andrew Maxwell, and Adam Bloom, joining the previously annopunced Sean Lock, Marcus Brigstocke, and Rob Newman, with more to come.
In the Vox ‘n’ Roll tent, they'll be informal readings combined with music giving alternative takes on literature with forums and discussions on music, albums, gigs, and the industry at large over the festival weekend. Newly confirmed contemporary authors, poets and guest speakers include Joe Boyd, Will Ashon, Matt Thorne, Cathi Unsworth, Stella Duffy, David Lines, Johnny Green, Martyn , Waites, Lana Citron, John Williams, Nicholas Blincoe, Alexander Masters, Candida Clark, Salena Saliva Godden, Nick Stone, James Flint, Clare Pollard, Andrew Holmes, Michael Smith, Andrew Smith, Jon Robb, and Stav Sherez.
Tickets are priced at £95 for Weekend tickets, with Day tickets £40 for any day. Weekend tickets prices include car parking and camping. Days include car parking only. Click here to buy.
