Jake Shears has told Xfm (here) just how keen he is for the Scissor Sisters to play next year's Glastonbury Festival.

He told them “I would absolutely love to play Glasto next year but I don’t know if it’s going to happen. I would give anything to do it, but I’m not going to get my expectations up so that way I’m not too disappointed”.

Like just about everyone else, Jake is sure that Kylie is going to be one of next year's headliners after falling ill and being unable to perform last year, so “unless they want it a really gay Glastonbury then [laughs] I dunno.”

Here at eFestivals, we don't think Jake should be concerned. We're pretty sure that both Glastonbury and Kylie would have liked the Scissor Sisters to have played before Kylie last year, but that it couldn't happen as they were headlining V Festival. Will it happen next year? We think it's quite likely.

For the very best Glastonbury rumours as we get them keep your eyes here, and if you hear of a band that's playing, please let us know.

Glastonbury tickets are expected to go on sale in very early April 2007 - we'll have all the details when available.
