The Who and Keane have been announced as headliners for a brand new festival happening on Merseyside in June.

The Knowsley Hall Music Festival will happen on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June set in 2500 acres of landscaped parkland and the ancestral home to the Earls of Derby.

The Who will headline the Saturday - their only UK festival performance this year other than Glastonbury (which happens the same weekend), and announced as also playing that day are local boys The Coral, band-of-the-moment The View, plus Liverpool legend Pete Wylie & The Mighty Wah.

Sunday is to be headlined by Keane, with The Zutons announced as joining them. More acts are still to be announced for both days.

This new festival is created and developed by the team behind Creamfields and Rockness. Organiser James Barton (CEO) Cream/Creamfields commented: "This city has an amazing musical heritage and I know how important it is to the people of Liverpool that tradition is preserved especially as we move ever closer to The Capital Of Culture year. As a company we are totally committed to playing our part by providing events that continue that proud tradition, but by also providing events that people will be excited by. Building on the success that Cream & Creamfields has achieved I am proud to announce this new show and hope that the people of Liverpool will show their support and enjoy what we know will be a great weekend of music."

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Monday 12th February, priced at £70 for both days, or £42.50 for the Saturday and £37.50 for the Sunday. We'll have links to buy when tickets are on sale. 40,000 people are expected to attend each day.
