The Killers have told how headlining this year's Glastonbury Festival will be the highlight of their tour.
Speaking to Teletext's Planet Sound, guitarist Dave Keuning said "It's going to be the highlight of touring this album. We turned down headlining in 2005 but, now we've got two albums, we've got enough songs to do it. Our first Glasto was incredible. No American festivals are like it, people camping out three days in the mud. We're going to go all out to be worthy of headlining it."
Set to headline the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night, they were recently confirmed by Emily Eavis to Q4music.com (here). Emily said "We're really chuffed that we've got The Killers. They broke through on the New Band stage in 2004 and came back the following year on the Main Stage, so they've come up through the festival. They're the right band to headline this year's festival."
Since eFestivals first revealed this year's headliners as The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, and The Who on 16th January, they've each been confirmed by organisers Michael and Emily Eavis or by comments by band members. The full official line-up is to be announced in the July issue of Q Magazine on 1st June.
