Summer Sundae Weekender - which will take place in the grounds of De Montfort Hall, Leicester from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th August 2007 has announced the line-up for the Musician Stage.

Headiners for the Musician Stage line-up will be: John Cooper Clarke, Richmond Fontaine, Dr Robert & PP Arnold, Seasick Steve, Aynsley Lister Band, and Tom Russell. Other musicians performing on the Musician Stage throughout the weekend will include: Daisy B, Steve Cartwright, Vijay Kishore, Andy Griffiths Band, Kevin Hewick, Colum Regan and David Wyatt, Andy Stirton, Gren Bartley, Southern Tennet Folk Reunion, and The Outside Track.

The Musician Stage features three days of the very best in roots and acoustic music, and is programmed by the Musician Venue, the nationally acclaimed Leicester venue for folk, country, Americana, blues and jazz. Every year, an act who has performed on the Musician stage the previous year is invited to return to the festival for a main stage performance the following year. Following a blistering show in 2006, the main stage at Summer Sundae will be opened this year by The Displacements.

Darren Knockles, Director of the Musician commented "For many people, The Musician stage is one of the highlights of the festival, so we are delighted to have secured a line-up that showcases such a superb range of artists. The bill ranges from Americana and blues right through to a rare appearance by the legendary punk poet John Cooper Clarke and we confidently expect this year will be the best yet."

They join headliners The Magic Numbers, Divine Comedy, Spiritualized Acoustic Mainlines, and Echo and the Bunnymen, along with acts such as The Rumble Strips, Gruff Rhys, John Cooper Clark, DJ Yoda, The Aliens, Spoon, Malcolm Middleton, and many more - for the full details to date, click here. There's still many more acts to be confirmed.

The festival started out as a one-day festival 6 years ago, has now grown 3-day music festival with camping and music on four stages plus the eFestivals Cabaret Tent.

Tickets are on sale, priced at £85 for the three days. Camping costs £5 per tent, and under-16s cost £20 for the three days. Under-5s are free, but must have a ticket. Click here to buy, or call the box office on 0116 2333 111.
