Latitude which takes place at Henham Park Estate in Suffolk from Thursday 12th to Sunday 15th July 2006 have announced the entertainment for the Thursday of the festival.
Below is a brief summary of what you can expect:
Lake Stage
(10pm start)
Hitchcocks - The Lodger (Hitchcocks very first silent b&w thriller in 1929)
Around the woods and the lake
(7pm start)
The Irrepressibles - The Irrepressibles will perform collectively a set of originally composed madrigals, laments, and energetic refrains adorned by a littering of dancers.
Poetry Arena
(6pm 11pm)
Poetry from John Hegley, Luke Wright, Asile 16 + friends, Niall O'Sullivan, John Osborne, Joe Dunthorne, Tim Clare, Yanny Mac & Pikey Paddy, Kat Francois, Tom Sutton, and Anne Pigalle.
Music and Film Arena
(8.15pm - 2am)
Daft Punk - Electroma Film (directed by the duo behind Daft Punk and featuring music from Brian Eno, Curtis Mayfair, and Sebastien Tellier)
Beautiful and the Dammed DJ set (silent movies, dressing up and varied music)
Literary Arena
(7pm - 10pm)
In the Literary Arena on Thursday night will be some of the weird and wonderful shorts from the innovative and original project, Perverted By Language as part of Vox N Roll. The project featured twenty-three writers who all chose one song by The Fall and used it as inspiration for their own short stories. Topics ranged wildly from mechanical ducks, shark women that taste of liquorice, and perverted sexual shenanigans in office spaces.
Contributions from Nicolas Blincoe, Natt Thorne, Stave Sherez, and Pete Wild. Vox 'N' Roll with Jon Cantor, Tom Cox, Andrew Smith, and Barrie Sherwood.
Guy Pratt, former bassist to Michael Jackson, Madonna, Jimmy Page, The Smiths, Roxy Music, Pink Floyd and Bryan Ferry, will be there with his new show My Bass And Other Animals.
Theatre Arena
(4pm 10pm)
On Thursday night there might be a chance to catch a glimpse of the theatre companies performing throughout the weekend, in a technical dress rehearsal. Nabokov, Random Dance, Sincera Productions, The Pleasance and Lizzie Roper will all be rehearsing their weekend performances.
