Global Gathering, which takes place at Long Marston Airfield, nr. Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th July (this coming weekend) have issued a statement regarding the recent inclement weather and flooding, saying that the event will definitely go ahead.

Although nearby Stratford-on-Avon has been flooded, Long Marston Airfield - which is said to have "quality drainage systems" - is around five miles from the town and has been unaffected by the floods. As of today, all transport (road and rail) links are completely clear, and the emergency services don't foresee any problems with covering the event.

The festival organisers sensibly advise ticket holders to come equipped for all weather conditions. The campsite - which also has good drainage - is equipped with hot showers and full amenities such as provision shops and bars, and the organisers are confident of being able to host a safe, well managed event.

Festival organiser, James Algate says, “We are expecting 50,000 people to have the weekend of their lives and wish to reassure ticket holders that after being on site for the past week, the airfield is unaffected and the production is looking stronger than ever.”

Global Gathering is set to feature headliners Faithless and Basement Jaxx, DJs such as Paul van Dyk, Carl Cox, Erick Morillo, and Armin Van Buuren, performing on 16 arenas and stages. For full line-up details, click here.

Tickets are still available, priced at £105 for the weekend - click here to buy.
