The organisers of the Acoustic Festival of Britain, which was due to take place next weekend (Saturday 28th of July to Sunday 29th of July) have been forced to cancel the event.

The decision was made this morning (Tuesday 24th July). The official website stated that "despite spending the last 10 days putting extra tracking around the site and re-organising the lay out, we still could not guarantee the welfare and safety of everyone attending."

The organisers went on to say that anyone who has bought a ticket from the festival office will be contacted shortly.

Artists who supposed to play the event included Jethro Tull, Midge Ure, Chris Norman (Smokie), Jah Wobble, Dead Men Walking (featuring Mike Peters, Captain Sensible, Kirk Brandon & Slim Jim), Chris Difford Band (Squeeze), and The Animals, among others.
