Amy Winehouse out of V Festival

As has been widely expected, Amy Winehouse has cancelled her performance at V festival.

A statement issued on her behalf last night says, "Amy Winehouse is putting all her touring commitments for this month on hold until further notice in order to address her health issues. Amy will now not be performing at this weekends V Festival in Chelmsford and Staffordshire. Her family has requested that the media respect Amys privacy at this time. There will be no further comment."

In response to news of Amy Winehouse no longer appearing at V Festival Simon Moran, Festival Director, comments, "Were very sorry to hear that Amy is unable to perform this weekend and wish her all the best. We hope that fans will not be too disappointed by the news and we would gladly welcome her to play V Festival 2008."

It's thought that the V Festival office will announce a replacement act later today.

The dual site V Festivals will feature a line-up of over 100 acts, including The Killers, Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol, Kasabian, Pink, James, Kanye West, Jarvis Cocker, Paolo Nutini, The Fratellis, Editors, KT Tunstall, James Morrison, Basement Jaxx, The Kooks, Manic Street Preachers, Dizzee Rascal, Lily Allen, Babyshambles, Mika, Primal Scream, Damien Rice, Corinne Bailey Rae, and more.
