More acts have been confirmed for the Wychwood Festival, which is held from Friday 30th May to Sunday 1st June at the Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire.
eFestivals can exclusively announce the latest acts for the festival, now in its fourth year, they are world music acts Orchestra Baobab, and Dengue Fever, the return of festival favourites Dreadzone, and singer/songwriter Robyn Hitchcock and Friends.
Mistys Big Adventure, Oxfordshires Stornoway, rising solo star Emma Pollock, and a new music project from Field Musics David Brewis called School of Language have also been added to the line-up.
They join the previously announced music line-up of Kate Rusby, The Blockheads featuring Phill Jupitus, The Imagined Village, Palladium, Piney Gir & The Country Roadshow, and The Epstein.
Sean Lock is also announced to a growing Wychwood comedy line-up. Last year he was very busy, as well as his cult BBC comedy series 15 Storeys High being released, he has hosted a second series of the Channel 4 show TV Heaven, Telly Hell and continues to be a regular team captain on Channel 4's '8 Out Of 10 Cats' now in its fifth series.
The comedy bill in 2008 curated by Comedy Store Player Andy Smart, already boasts Phill Jupitus, Dave Johns and Stephen Frost, and Jeff Green.
The very family-friendly Wychwood aims to be intimate and inclusive for audience and musician alike, blending world, roots and contemporary music, and encouraging new collaborations, with an ethical bent to its theme, fundraising for Oxfam. There's also comedy, workshops, and more.
Tickets are on sale, priced at £100 for an adult weekend ticket and £75 for a concession weekend ticket (there is also a new 2 for 1 Disabled ticket rate). Campervans are an extra £25. Children aged 11 and under and camping remain free, but need a ticket. To buy, click here or telephone the festival office on 01993 772580.
The festival will be reverting to the same camping set up as 2006, whereby you will be able to drive up to your camping pitch, and unload your camping gear right by where you are setting up. Then emptied cars must be driven off the campsite and to the car park. After the festival, you'll be able to drive back to your pitch to load up. Also returning in 2008 will be the silent disco, back by popular demand.
eFestivals is proud to sponsor the comedy at Wychwood Music Festival, as part of our commitment to support festivals - see here for more information.
