Festival-favourites Levellers have been confirmed as headliners for the union-organised Glastonbury Left Field on Thursday night headlining an evening of music in support of Anti Slavery International – the campaign continuing the fight against slavery and people trafficking.

The Levellers are celebrating their 20th year anniversary together in 2008 and Left Field Director Geoff Martin says he's delighted to have the band headline on the opening night of this year's Left Field: "I've been trying to hook the Lev's in at Left Field for some time now but busy schedules and other slots have always got in the way – I am dead chuffed that we've got the band lined up for 2008 and with the guys celebrating 20 years on the streets it's going to be some night in support of Anti-Slavery International."

The Levellers are also part of the bill at the Left Field-organised Rock Against Racism 30th anniversary show held at Brixton Academy on Wednesday the 30th April supported by Alabama 3, Misty in Roots, Tom Robinson, The Thirst and Tony Benn.

Geoff Martin added, "We are also delighted that the Levellers have been able to get involved in the RAR 30th anniversary night at Brixton Academy on the 30th April – the eve of the London elections which are being heavily targeted by the BNP."
