Beachdown Festival add loads more acts for South Downs

including Jose Gonzalez, Young Knives, Alabama 3, and Brakes

Beachdown Festival, which takes place on the South Downs near Brighton on the August bank holiday weekend from Friday 22nd to Monday 25th August have announced more acts playing over the weekend.

The latest additions to the line-up are Jose Gonzalez, Nouvelle Vague, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Alabama 3, The Maccabees, The Men They Couldn't Hang, Horace Andy & Dub Asante, Imperial Leisure, The Heavy, Young Knives, Brakes, Hercules and Love Affair, and Peggy Sue & the Pirates.

Acts have also been confirmed for the Brighton stage, and include Men of Splendour, Shona Foster, Transformer, 12 Stone Toddler, Acoustic Dregs, Doll & The Kicks, Heels Catch Fire, Drookit Dogs, Black Grass, Hardkandy, Chungking, Gloria Cycles, The Miserable Rich, Damn Dirty Humans, Bonobo, Stick it On, Roots Garden Sound System feat Kenny Knots on the Mic and Leroy Horns on Sax alongside Manasseh and MC Brother Culture, Bust the Box and The Jazz Bop.

There are still more acts to be confirmed, plus the full DJ line-up for the festival. The line-up of acts already confirmed includes De La Soul, Lightspeed Champion, Reverend and the Makers, Terry Callier, Roy Ayers, Infadels, The Hat and Freakpower, Russ Dewbury, Bah Samba, Azymuth, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jah Wobble All-stars and Amp Fiddler. With more names still to be announced. As well as high profile names there will also be local talent from the Brighton music scene - club nights, record labels and DJ's are all involved. A day pass will cost £30 and a full weekend pass will be priced at £85 and go on sale this weekend priced at £85. There will limited number of day tickets will be on sale as well as weekend tickets, whilst camping facilities will be available and shuttle buses running every hour running from Brighton to the festival site and back from 10am until 1am which means all local festival goers should leave their cars at home.

The parking facilities will be located off site, so as not to disturb or damage the natural environment of the south downs. Car parks will be utilised at the nearby Hickstead Showground and at Shoreham Airport, where buses will ferry festival goers from their car directly to the camp site.

The food stalls on site will offer locally sourced and organic menus, some provided by local brand name restaurants. The event is also aiming to be carbon neutral.
