Gibson Guitar offers unsigned bands a chance to play Download

on the same day as Testament, Saxon, and Johnny Truant

Gibson Guitar who are sponsoring the third stage at Download Festival, which happens over the weekend of Friday 13th to Sunday 15th June 2008 at Donington Park, Leicestershire are offering all unsigned bands a chance of performing and opening on the Gibson Stage at the festival this summer in association with the Olympus LS-10.

Entry is simple, to be in with a change to win the opportunity to play at the Download Festival just go www.myspace.com/gibsonolympus and upload your best performance onto You Tube and post a link on the dedicated My Space page.

Your video will be judged by several respected music industry insiders such as Kerrang's Katie Parsons, BBC Radio 1's Dan Carter and industry A& R specialist Oliver Behzadi.

On top of opening on the Gibson Stage on Saturday 14th June, the winning band will be given VIP passes for the day, van hire with a tank of petrol, hotel accommodation and an Olympus LS-10. Closing date is Friday 6th June 2008. Winners will be notified on Monday 9th June. Good luck.

The line-up for Download includes the headliners Kiss, The Offspring and Lostprophets, with Judas Priest, as 'very special guests', Lemmy's Mötorhead, Rise Against, Jimmy Eat World, Ash, Ace Frehley, Bullet For My Valentine, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis, 36 Crazyfists, Pendulum, Job For A Cowboy, Children Of Bodom, Coheed and Cambria, Alter Bridge, Disturbed, In Flames, Incubus, and Kid Rock.
