Hydro Connect festival which is located in the grounds of an 18th Century castle in the Scottish Highlands have confirmed more acts for the weekend of Friday 29th to Sunday 31st August in 2008.

Techno DJ Dave Clarke has been announced as the first act to play the Unknown Pleasures Tent, which is curated by Soma and Optimo. Clarke will be performing a very special electro set at the festival.

Indie blues act Gomez, and Brighton's Passenger have been confirmed to be performing on the Guitars and Other Machines Stage on Saturday, with many more to be announced.

There will also be 20 unsigned bands of upcoming talent who will be playing the Your Sound Bandstand, the names of which will be announced next month.

They join the acts which have been announced so far who include Kasabian, Franz Ferdinand, Sigur Ros, Paulo Nutini, Manic Street Preachers, Bloc Party, Goldfrapp, Young Knives, Conor Oberst & The Magic Valley Band, The Gutter Twins, Duffy, Nick Cave's Grinderman, Amy MacDonald, Elbow, The Gossip, Spiritualized, Howling Bells, Mercury Rev, The Coral (Acoustic), Roots, The Breeders, Levellers, and Camera Obscura, Sia and more. There will also be an enchanted forest party and a chill out tree area and 'gourmet food' on offer, including Loch Fyne Oysters, Venison Burgers, Bumble Pudding as well as Fyne Ales and 70 whiskies to sample in the Whisky bar. There will also be the Rest and Be Thankful Spa with massage, manicure and other spa facilities on offer. The Speakeasy Café will offer coffee, culture, conversation and comedy. There will also be bespoke camping options available.

Organised by the same people as T in the Park, Hydro Connect's Inveraray Castle is a spectacular backdrop for the main stage with two other stages providing indie rock, folk, experimental and dance acts, for around 20,000 people, and aimed at a more mature and affluent audience and offers

For the green-friendly option you can travel by coach. Coach tickets are likely to go on sale when the event announces the first acts.

Both the car parks and coach drop-off point are a fair walk from the campsite entrance, so make sure you don't take more than you can carry.
