Download Festival held in two week's time over the weekend of Friday 13th to Sunday 15th June 2008 at Donington Park, Leicestershire will this year be featuring some of the best in FMX (Freestyle Motocross), BMX and skate talent.

Some of the world's best action sports athletes will appear in the Monster Battlefield, which will be situated in the Main Arena and will be displaying non-stop action stunts throughout the weekend, with the Ball Of Steel providing daredevil stunts involving three motorbike riders defying gravity. After-hours entertainment will be provided by the Monster Army Camp in the campsite which will be pumping out tunes until the early hours!

Athletes due to appear courtesy of Monster Energy include Czech champion Libor Podmol, who two years ago was crowned Vice Champion at the FIM Freestyle MX World Championships, Remi Bouzard from France, currently in the top 3 FMX World Champions, and Willian Van de Putte from Belgium. Also set to appear are pro-skater Pete King, BMX stars Jerry Galley and Phil Aller and one of the UK's biggest rising skateboard talents Trevor Johnson.

Monster man, Jamal Benmiloud, said, "It's going to be an action sport feast during the day at the Monster Battlefield. Then in the evening, the Monster Army Camp will be the driving force behind the after-party, cranking out tunes with top DJs from 10.30pm until the early hours in the campsite."

It has also been confirmed that joining Apocalyptica on stage on Sunday will be Lacuna Coil's Christina Scabbia. She will guest on the track 'SOS (Anything But Love)'.

Valient Thorr’s operation to donate a kidney to his father three weeks ago went well and he will be performing at Download, "If I can go from a hospital bed to playing in front of a crowd of 75,000 at the UK's Download Festival in just four weeks, people out there might consider becoming organ donors as well. If they have family members who need a kidney, it's definitely something to think about; and if not, they can still learn about designating themselves as organ donors on their driver's license."

With a new site layout there will be increased shaded areas from the trees, and more benches providing seating in the arena. Plus market stalls, a fairground, a 5-a-side football pitch and more.

The full Download line-up is now in place with over 100 bands performing across the Main, Tuborg and Gibson Guitar stages and includes the headliners Kiss, The Offspring and Lostprophets, with Judas Priest, as 'very special guests', Lemmy's Mötorhead, Rise Against, Jimmy Eat World, Ash, Ace Frehley, Bullet For My Valentine, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis, 36 Crazyfists, Pendulum, Job For A Cowboy, Children Of Bodom, Coheed and Cambria, Alter Bridge, Disturbed, In Flames, Incubus, and Kid Rock.
