Retrofest now in its second year and held at Strathclyde Country Park, North Lanarkshire, Scotland from Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August 2008 has announced an additional day of music on the Friday.
Headlining the stage on Friday night will be Scottish rockers Four Good Men, they will be supported by the Steve McKenna Big Band, Passionate Friends, Natasha England, and The Romantiques. Doors open at 7pm.
The Friday night entertainment will be open to everyone. Those with weekend tickets or weekend tickets with camping will be allowed into the festival site on Friday night for free. Those who have only day tickets can also get in but have to purchase Friday night tickets in advance at a price of £10. Tickets can also be bought the door on the same day and will be priced at £15.
Expect 20 acts from the late seventies to early nineties to play each day at this festival which celebrates primarily 80s music. 32 live bands in all will be performing over the two days to festival goers the organisers describe as "people who may not normally attend a festival."
The line-up includes Boney M, The Bangles, Boy George, 10CC, Paul Young, Nik Kershaw, Kim Wilde, The Blow Monkeys, Bjorn Again, Kajagoogoo with Limahl, The Christians, Peter Andre (and special guest backing band), The Original Bucks Fizz, Bootleg Beatles, China Crisis, Midge Ure, Mari Wilson, and Howard Jones. Site Opens 10am both days with the first acts on at approx midday and the last act is off stage at approx 11pm.

Retrofest attendees can also enjoy a Tiger Tiger 80s Disco; (a disco tent full of 80's coloured lights and flashing floors a true John Travolta tribute if ever there was one). There's also The Retro Ritz Cinema: a giant big top tent with tiered seating and red velvet 80's cinema drapes which can hold 750 people at a time. 80's movies will play at allocated time slots, including The Breakfast Club, Footloose, Ghost, Grease, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Back To The Future, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and there will be a bar serving drinks.
There is also a 'Headphone Disco' (a retro version of 'Silent Disco', to a soundtrack of pure retro pop), and 'Tomorrow's World' solar powered Stage; (featuring up and coming live bands). The Retro Rest Holistic Haven; two giant tipis, kitted out as a spa offering massages and a special 80's form of Re-Re-Reflexology, complete with roaring log fire and incense.
