Each ticket sold will feature a photograph of the person in whose name it is registered and will be non-transferable. So if you plan to buy tickets for friends or family you must make sure they all register!

Registration does not reserve or guarantee you a ticket when they go on sale at at 9am on Sunday 5th October, but if you don't register you will not be able to buy a weekend ticket for Glastonbury Festival 2009. All registered festival-goers will have two options. They can either buy a full weekend ticket at a price of £175 (plus a booking fee of £5). Alternatively, tickets can be reserved at a cost of £50 per ticket. The balance will be payable by Sunday 1st February 2009. With both these options, the number of tickets available per transaction to registered customers has been increased to six.

Online registration can be carried out by clicking here.

Registration involves:
1. Providing contact details: name, address, postcode and a valid e-mail address.
2. Sending a passport standard photo: you will be required to upload your passport standard photo in jpeg form for online registration. If a ticket is successfully purchased this picture will be printed on it to make it unique and must therefore be an acceptable facial image. The image must meet passport photo requirements.
3. Receiving a registration number: to buy a ticket for Glastonbury 2009 this number must be quoted, it will be a unique registration number. So write it down somewhere safe and do not lose it! As last year, there is a webpage provided where you can recover your registration number, here. Note that there will be no editing facility for registrations, so please ensure all your details are correct, and that your photo is of a suitable size and standard before submitting your details.

If you do not have internet access you can apply for a registration form (enclosing an SAE) to:

Glastonbury,
PO Box 2445,
Glasgow
G40 9AG

Successful postal registrants will be notified of their registration number by post within two weeks.

There is no limit to the total number of people who will be allowed to register. Registering more than once will not increase your likelihood of getting a ticket. Every registration will have an equal chance of buying tickets irrespective of how or when it was made during the registration period. Registration can be made on behalf of other people as long as all their contact details and photos can be provided. If you live outside the UK, the only option is to register online.

If you have not received a confirmation email within a day of having made an online application, please check your spam folder. If your registration is rejected you can re-apply.

If you send in a postal application and do not receive notification of your registration number within two weeks of sending it in, it is best to re-register in case your registration has been rejected, or did not reach them in the first place.

If you have any questions it is worth looking at the Glastonbury FAQ page here.

A second release of tickets will be available from 9am on Sunday 5th April 2009; again you must be registered by March 31st to be eligible to buy a ticket.

Ticket purchasing will require each buyer to input their name and their unique valid registration number for each ticket they purchase. Tickets will be sent out by courier to the addresses specified when making the sale, and if ordering more than one ticket, all tickets will be dispatched to the address provided during registration for the first name on the ticket booking.

Data collected during registration will be destroyed one month after the 2009 Festival unless you opt to have it retained by Glastonbury Festivals for future registrations. Retained information will also be used to inform you of events run by Glastonbury Festival. No information collected through registration will be offered for sale or made available to any third party.

All data collected in 2007 was destroyed, so 2007 registrants will need to register again this year. Those who registered in 2008 were offered the chance to save their details - if you did so, your existing registration number is still valid. If you did not opt to have your details saved, then you will need to register again this year.

Checks will be made at the gates and if you are clearly not the person whose face is printed on the ticket you will be denied entry.

Glastonbury Festival will play host to more than 2,000 performances at 50 or so venues including music, cabaret, theatre, circus, and also has a fantastic Kids area, poetry, green crafts and information and loads, loads more.

No acts are confirmed as yet, but as usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2009 rumours, updated as we receive information.
