There's been plenty of speculation over who might be headlining next year's Glastonbury Festival, and eFestivals is now in a position to state who we believe will be seen on the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm in June.
Just to make it clear, we do not know for certain that these acts will be the headliners, but we do have confidence in these names. It's very often the case that eFestivals is first to correctly state who will headline Glastonbury Festival, and we think we've got it right again here. However, only the festival itself is able to confirm the acts that are playing, and a spokesman has today told us that nothing is yet 100% confirmed.
There's been plenty of speculation from a number of sources that Blur will be one of the headliners, and we believe that they will be too. We expect to see them headline on the Sunday.
eFestivals was first to mention Bruce Springsteen as a possible headliner for next year around a week ago. We believe that he will headline on the Saturday.
And while we've believed for a while that Friday will also have an older male act that is a solo name, until now we've not had confidence in any particular name. We now believe that Friday will be headlined by an act that the Festival has been desperate to get for many years, Neil Young.
We state again: these acts are not confirmed and they might not ever be. It's possible that we're wrong, although we don't believe that we are.
PS: none of the above is sourced from Holy Moly.
To see who else might be playing, take a look at the eFestivals' Glastonbury 2009 rumours >>.
Next year's Glastonbury Festival runs for five full days from Wednesday 24th until Sunday 28th June 2009 at Worthy Farm, Somerset.
