Orbital confirm themselves for Global Gathering

Orbital have announced another festival appearance this time at the Global Gathering festival as second stage headliners.

Brothers Paul and Phil Hartnoll revealed their appearance at Global Gathering in a blog on their MySpace site (here). The duo formed the band in 1989 and went on to become one the pioneers of the dance music scene, and enjoyed a dazzling 15-year stint before bowing out in 2004. Now they've lined-up a busy summer playing previously announced Rock Ness festival in Scotland as well as The Big Chill at Eastnor Castle.

Orbital are the only act known to be appearing, so far, at the ninth Global Gathering which takes place at Long Marston Airfield, nr. Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire on Friday 24th, and Saturday 25th July 2009.

Global Gathering is a two day over 18s event, considered the heavyweight champion of dance festivals, and covers the entire spectrum of dance music with musicians, DJs and performers entertaining up to 50,000 people.
