Tickets for Glastonbury Festival have all sold out.

The news means that the festival is back to its renowned form with tickets selling out many months in advance. The last tickets went yesterday after tickets were briefly put on sale following the end of the successful deposit scheme.

The Festival launched the deposit scheme for the early sale of tickets in October last year, with the vast majority of festival-goers completing their full payment before the deadline of Sunday 1st February. Anyone who failed to pay their balance by the deadline will receive a refund of £40 per deposit onto the card on which the initial deposit payment was made.

Festival organiser Emily Eavis said, "We're chuffed to bits that we've managed to sell so many tickets so far ahead, especially when you look at the weather outside. Thanks to everyone for keeping the faith; it's certainly shaping up to be another vintage year for Glastonbury Festival, with a brilliant line up to be unveiled in June."

Although the line-up for this year's Festival has not yet been announced, to see who might be playing, take a look at the eFestivals' Glastonbury 2009 rumours >>.

A second release of tickets will be available from 9am on Sunday 5th April 2009, although in order to do so you must have registered beforehand to be eligible to buy a ticket. However, it's unlikely that they'll be a huge number of tickets available on that day. They will be priced at £175 (plus a booking fee of £5).

Online registration is still available and can be carried out by clicking here. Those without internet access can apply for a registration form (enclosing an SAE) to Glastonbury, PO Box 2445, Glasgow G40 9AG. Registration will close from 5pm on Tuesday 31st March before the next main ticket selling period.

The ticket price includes includes a FREE programme, a useful cloth bag, and small around the neck guide. Car parking tickets can be bought at the same time and are priced at £10 per vehicle, and campervan tickets are priced at £65 per van.
