Myleene Klass will perform at this year's Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza, run by Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis.
Myleene Klass has been confirmed to start the return of the classical evening at the Extravaganza on Sunday 9th August with a solo performance, and then join the headliners Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for a piano piece. The PopStars winner with Hear'Say in 2001 will also be compering the whole evening.
Farmer, Michael Eavis announced, "Myleene is exactly what we needed for the classical night at the Extravaganza. She is so well known and such a wonderful pianist. Hopefully her presence and a return to the original format of traditional classical favourites will attract the crowds. It will be such a good show, and deserves to be well supported. I hope all of those who asked me to bring back the classical evening will join me at the Abbey in August for the Extravaganza."
Other guests making an appearance with the RPO include soprano Jo Appleby, a former member of the opera group Amici Forever, and recent ENO tenor Andrew Rees.
The two day event, which is held at Glastonbury Abbey, Somerset on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August 2009,also sees the legendary rock band Status Quo, bring their classics to the ancient Abbey Grounds on the Saturday. They are both guaranteed to be great evenings.
The unique event has grown in stature over the years and is a confirmed high spot in the musical calendar of the South West, and certainly a real occasion, with fireworks, lights, candelabra and picnics.
