There's a chance for budding rock stars to play at this summer's Download festival with a live broadcast from their own bedroom.

Marilyn Manson
The Red Bull Bedroom Jam stage line-up has previously been announced, but there is one new space on the festival bill still to be filled for a lucky new band, thanks to the Red Bull Bedroom Jam crew. They are offering a chance to play the Main Stage ahead of the performance from Marilyn Manson. For the first time ever an unknown band will get to play one of Download's stages in a live broadcast from their own bedroom.

Any up and coming bands who fancy this chance to play Download, here's what you need to do:

1. Upload your video to www.redbullbedroomjam.com. Don't worry about the quality, a mobile phone vid of you playing in your bedroom will do, it's the talent that they are looking for.

2. Have your fans to log on, watch and then rate your video.

The most popular artists will get selected for a live-streamed performance on broadcast day, the Red Bull Bedroom Jam crew will collect the musicians and selected mates and fans, and the winners get to rock out in front of the camera!

To enter videos must be uploaded by Friday 5th of June. The winners will then be informed on Monday 8th June.

Live Nation and Red Bull UK today announced a three-year strategic marketing alliance entitling Red Bull to official energy drink rights at six of the annual music festivals Live Nation produces in the UK: Download, T in the Park, Wireless, Hard Rock Calling, Global Gathering and Escape into the Park. Additionally, Red Bull will have their stage at Download and Red Bull-designate campsite villages at the event.

Dan Walsh, Commercial Events Manager, at Red Bull said, "We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Live Nation this year. Live Nation's festivals attract some of the best bands in the world and our aim is to add to this success story by bringing along our very own unique content via the Red Bull Bedroom Jam Stage. Present at both Download and T in the Park, the stage will showcase some of Britain's hottest young bands all of whom have been voted for by the British public. Also, for the first time ever we will be facilitating a live virtual gig on the Main stage screens, allowing a lucky winning band from Red Bull Bedroom Jam to virtually support the Headline act. As their official energy drink partner, over the next three years we look forward to working with Live Nation to grow this activity, along with others, to create the best festival experience."

Acts confirmed to appear over the weekend of Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June 2009 at Donington Park include headliners Faith No More, Slipknot and Def Leppard. Joining them over the weekend are Korn, ZZ Top, Chris Cornell, Journey, Marilyn Manson, Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, Therapy?, Middle Class rut, Dragonforce, Devildriver, Motley Crue, Pendulum, The Prodigy, Whitesnake, Trivium, Limp Bizkit and more.
