The Ghost Of A Thousand have pulled out of their headlining slot at this weekend's Download festival.

The Brighton based five piece were due to headline the Red Bull Bedroom Jam stage on the Saturday of the festival, but have pulled according to a story on the Kerrang website (here).

The news article says that the band have have pulled out due to urgent family matters, and issued the following statement apologising to fans, "We are all very upset and will make it up to everyone that wanted to see the band very soon, thanks for your understanding on this. We'll see you soon."

The band have also been forced to pull out of their show with Alexisonfire at the London Borderline this evening, but it's expected that their headline tour next month will still go ahead as planned.

Acts confirmed to appear over this weekend from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June 2009 at Donington Park include headliners Faith No More, Slipknot and Def Leppard. Joining them over the weekend are Korn, ZZ Top, Chris Cornell, Journey, Marilyn Manson, Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, Therapy?, Middle Class rut, Dragonforce, Devildriver, Motley Crue, Pendulum, The Prodigy, Whitesnake, Trivium, Limp Bizkit and more. Tickets are on sale priced at £135 for a full weekend ticket, while day tickets cost £65 for any day. Camping has sold out, car parking tickets are priced at £10 advance, £20 on the day, camper vans tickets are priced at £40, and lockers will be £11.
