British MC Roots Manuva have been confirmed as the Saturday night headliner at next month's Lounge on the Farm.

Rodney Smith aka Roots Manuva will bring his quintessentially British take on hip-hop, dub and reggae to the Cowshed as the Saturday night headliner.

Festival organizer Matt Gough said, "We always wanted an artist who's got a good back catalogue behind them, and someone who'll create a cracking Saturday night carnival vibe. And Roots Manuva not only has some incredible albums under his belt but also a wicked live show. Here's to some Saturday night skanking!"

Roots Manuva, will be joined at the festival by a few extra additions for the Saturday, including Kenny Hawkes for the Hoedown, Solid Gold, and Little Fish for the Sheepdip bands stage, and Mr David Viner for the Farm Folk.

The five thousand capacity festival takes place in just three weeks from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th of July, and features six stages with over 160 bands playing over three days. Mr Scruff will be playing a six hour set, and the farm will also welcome Gong, James Taylor Quartet, The Steve Hillage Band, Edwyn Collins, The Aliens, Dub Pistols & Bent, Portico Quartet, The King Blues, Underground Heroes, The Ghost Of A Thousand, It Hugs Back, The XX, Chris T-T, Jay Jay Pistolet, Pete Molinari, Casiokids, Sargasso Trio, DJ Format, Wild Beasts, The Invisible, The Wave Pictures, Baddies, Toddla T & Mc Serocee, Zomby, Joe Gideon & The Shark, Wild Beasts, The Invisible, and loads more.

The family friendly festival also ensure that Kids are well catered for in the Little Lounge where the School of Rock stage will host the battle of the bands, featuring the finest from schools and youth clubs across Kent. Beatbox, breakdance and scratching workshops take place all weekend, as well as drumming and puppetry workshops for smaller siblings. For little ones there's also Baby yoga and massage. Families have the opportunity to join the first ever LOTF Samba band of the Sunday, taking part in the processions across the campsite to wake any weary heads at 11 am on Sunday morning.

Tickets are priced at £85 for an adult weekend ticket, children tickets aged 6-15 are priced at £45, family tickets allow entrance of 2 x adults and 2 x kids aged 6 - 15 are priced at £180. The full price tickets for 2009 will be £85 (Adult Weekend), £180 (Family Weekend), and £45 (Child Weekend). Kids aged 5 or under go for a nominal fee of £1.
