American alt-rockers The Lemonheads have been added to September's White Air Extreme Sports Festival line-up.

The Lemonheads, Boston rockers fronted by Evan Dando have returned with new covers record 'Varshons'. With classic hits such as 'Mrs. Robinson', 'It's a Shame About Ray' and 'Into Your Arms' set to be surefire crowd-pleasers at Brighton.

White Air founder and former windsurfing world champion, Nigel Howell said, "The addition of The Lemonheads to the White Air bill is incredibly exciting. The band are fantastic live and will really get the crowd going. We're in our 12th year now and are confident that the new setting, top rate line-up and over 40 extreme sports will make for an unforgettable weekend!"

The headliners for the main live stage has been announced as Biffy Clyro and Doves, with other acts confirmed including White Lies, The Cribs, British Sea Power, Natty, The Boxer Rebellion, Doll & The Kicks, Flood of Red, Lyrebirds, This City, Sky Larkin, White Belt Yellow Tag, Ben Howard, and more.
The three day event will have two nights of live music on the main live stage and fringe music venues, and parties alongside extreme sports, competitions, and displays such as World High Diving from a 30m tower into a 3m pool, and a 'Fire Dive' by 'The Human Torch', plus Windsurfing, Thundercats, Jet Skis, Mixed Martial Arts, Scuba Diving, and more.

The festival, now in its 12th year, has moved from Yaverland Beach, on the Isle of Wight to a new home on Brighton Beach and runs from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th September 2009
Limited early bird weekender tickets are now on sale priced at £60 for adults. Student and under 16's tickets are priced at £55. Family tickets are also available.
