Smokey Robinson, and Dizzee Rascal have also been announced alongside Doves for this year's BBC Electric Proms.
Grime star Dizzee Rascal has also been confirmed for The Roundhouse on Wednesday 21st October with his first ever full length live show with a band, horns and string section. Dizzee will be joined by The Heritage Orchestra and backed by electronic mash-up collective The Young Punx under the musical direction of Hal Ritson for a celebration of the artist's diverse influences, with mash-ups, radical reinterpretations of Rascal favourites and a few surprises.
They join a line-up that includes the previously announced Doves with The London Bulgarian Choir and Florence & the Machine, and Metronomy. The BBC Electric Proms festival will take place from Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th of October 2009 at The Roundhouse and various venues around Camden, London. The idea for this event is to allow artists to perform something a bit different, whether it be a performance of rare tracks, a unique collaboration or a cross bridging of genres.
Smokey Robinson tickets are priced at £25, Doves tickets are priced at £20, and Dizzee Rascal tickets are priced at £20, they will be available to buy from 8am tomorrow, Wednesday 16th September.
