Simply Red have announced a series of dates in woodland locations next summer as part of Forestry Commission Live Music 2010.

Fronted by the unmistakable Mick Hucknall, the band are expected to perform songs from their catalogue of hit singles which include 'Holding Back The Years', 'Something Got Me Started', 'If You Don't Know Me By Now', 'For Your Babies', 'Fairground', 'Angel', 'Sunrise' and 'Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye'.

Simply Red will be performing on the following dates
Friday 11th June - Thetford Forest, Nr Brandon, Suffolk.
Saturday 12th June - Bedgebury Pinetum & Forest, Nr Goudhurst, Kent.
Friday 18th June - Sherwood Pines Forest Park, Nr Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire.
Saturday 19th June - Westonbirt Arboretum, Nr Tetbury, Gloucestershire.
Friday 25th June - Cannock Chase Forest, Nr Rugeley, Staffordshire.
Saturday 26th June - Dalby Forest, Nr Pickering, North Yorks.
Friday 2nd July - Delamere Forest, Delamere, Cheshire.

Commenting on the concerts, Mick Hucknall said, "As we had such fun performing a solo forest show at Westonbirt Arboretum this year, we decided it would be great to play all the forest concert venues around the country in 2010. It is a fantastic experience for a band to play in these unique settings."

Tickets will be priced at £38. They will go on sale at 9.00am Friday 6th November 2009 and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.

The Forestry Commission is committed to taking woodlands to new audiences and making them relevant to people in new ways. The forest tour is self-sustaining, paying for itself, and any profit generated goes back into improving woodlands for both wildlife and the public to enjoy.
