The Beastie Boy's Mixmaster Mike for BLOC Weekend

The Beastie Boy's turntablist Mixmaster Mike has been announced for this year's BLOC Weekend.

Originally shooting to fame with the Invisibl Skratch Piklz (featuring DJ Qbert, who appeared at last year's sold out BLOC Weekend event), Mixmaster Mike joined the Beastie Boys for their 1998 smash LP 'Hello Nasty'. He's been with them as their resident DJ ever since. BLOC Weekenders are gonna get up to get down with this turntable royalty in March.

He joins a line-up of 60+ international acts including Salt N Pepa, Grandmaster Flash, Adam Beyer, Skream B2B Benga, Luke Vibert, Congo Natty aka Rebel MC, MJ Cole, Kode 9, Roots Manuva, Autechre, Ms Dynamite, Wiley, Derrick May, Luke Slater, Lindstrom, Anti-Pop Consortium, Surgeon, Nathan Fake, Joker, Mark Ernestus feat. One of the leading indoor underground music events BLOC weekend is three days of independent electronic music, held once again at Butlins Resort, Minehead, Somerset from Friday 12 to Sunday 14th March 2010 offering self-catered heated chalet accommodation, with ensuite equipped with beds, kitchen, showers and all mod cons.

Butlins, Minehead is equipped with a supermarket, newsagent, cash points and restaurants. Onsite facilities include a Splash Water World - a sub-tropical environment that has a wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes and also a flume based raft ride, plus ten-pin bowling and an amusement arcade.

Ticket bookings are done per chalet. Tickets have to be bought in groups of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 according to the size of the apartment wanted. 'Self-Catering' apartments have a kitchen and a separate living room, and 'Room-Only' apartments do not. 5 & 7 berth self catering now sold out - self catering is now only available in 4 & 6 berth.
