Kris Kristofferson, Seasick Steve, The Imagined Village, and Seth Lakeman are amongst the first names confirmed for this year's Cambridge Folk Festival.

US songwriter, actor and Grammy Award winning country music legend Kris Kristofferson will be appearing at the festival as his only outdoor UK festival date. Joining him on the folk flavoured line-up is Natalie Merchant, Seasick Steve, a UK summer festival exclusive from Pink Martini, the only outdoor UK festival appearance by The Imagined Village, The Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain, and Seth Lakeman.

Further additions include Sharon Shannon & Imelda May in an exclusive UK show, Rokia Traore, Show of Hands, The Unusual Suspects, an exclusive UK festival performance from Kathy Mattea, The Unthanks, Salsa Celtica, Dervish, and Julie Fowlis.

There will also be performances from Carolina Chocolate Drops, Boban & Marko Markovic Gypsy Orkestar, Gretchen Peters, Lunasa, The Holmes Brothers, Stornoway, and a debut English Festival appearance from Paul Simon's son Harper Simon.

The line-up will also include The Burns Unit, Jackie Oates, Breabach, Ezio, Brian McNeill, Lissie, CW Stoneking, Spiro, Joe Pug, The Fisherman's Friends, and Quebe Sisters Band.

The raft of new acts announced today is completed by Mama Rosin, James Findlay, The Muckle Loons, The Committee Band, Hekety, Cocos Lovers, The Musical Mystery Tour, Tyde (folk), Adam Brown, and Alan MacLeod.

This festival's prestigious reputation for quality music in intimate surroundings means tickets always sell out very quickly. The music is much more than traditional folk.

The festival takes place from . Tickets will be priced at £108 for a full adult festival pass (not including camping), day tickets will be priced as follows - Friday £37; Saturday £48; and Sunday £48. Camping will be available for full festival ticket holders only, priced at £34 per 2-3 berth tent. Tickets are expected on sale from 9am on Sunday 16th May and eFestivals will have links to buy then.
