RATT cancel their appearance at Download

RATT have had to cancel their appearance Download as vocalist Stephen Percy will be undergoing urgent surgery this week, resulting in the band cancelling upcoming dates.

Due to illness RATT have pulled out of their festival appearances in June and July with Download, Sweden Rock, Sauna Open Air Festival, Hellfest, Grasspop, and Gods of Metal. Download have announced they will be replacing them on the bill with British hard rockers FM.

RATT's MySpace is currently running the below statement:

"RATT have been forced to cancel their upcoming European tour dates. Vocalist Stephen Pearcy will be undergoing urgent hernia surgery this week.

"The band regrets missing the European dates on the heels of the release of their first album in eleven years, Infestation, which enjoyed a high chart debut in European territories.

"RATT shares this disappointment with all their European fans who planned to attend the shows at Sweden Rock, Sauna Open Air Festival, UK Download, Hellfest, Grasspop and Gods of Metal as well as their other dates.

"The band is looking into rescheduling as many of the shows as possible.

"Pearcy's doctors anticipate a full recovery in time for RATT's North American touring schedule, which includes a run with The Scorpions, beginning in July and running through September."

Download festival is held at Donington Park over the weekend of Friday 11th to Sunday 13th June 2010 and features a line-up that includes headliners AC/DC, Rage Against the Machine, and Aerosmith, with Them Crooked Vultures, Bullet For My Valentine, Motorhead, Deftones, Stone Temple Pilots, Volbeat, Stone Sour, Billy Idol, 30 Seconds to Mars, Lamb Of God, Five Finger Death Punch, and Megadeth also confirmed. Weekend arena tickets with 3 nights camping were priced at £170 and have sold out, a five nights camping weekend ticket is still available priced at £180, and a weekend only ticket without camping is priced at £140. Lockers in the campsite are priced at £11 with car parking £10 in advance, £20 on the day. A campervan supplement is £40. There will be an additional £10 charge to enter the campsite either on the Wednesday or Thursday. Day tickets for Download are also available priced at £75 each.
