The the family orientated festival which was due to run from today, Thursday 26th until Sunday 29th August with the site closing on Monday 30th at Midday.

However festival organisers have issued the following statement:
"Dear Shambalistas,

Due to the severe weather conditions we have been experiencing over the last week we will not be admitting crew, public or performers until tomorrow, Friday 27th at 2pm. Please do not attempt to enter site as we cannot accommodate you due to site maintenance.

The Thursday coach service will still be operating as normal.

Thank you for your understanding
."
This only effects those arriving by car/van as organisers want to protect the car parks from getting too badly damaged, and there's an on site vehicle ban currently in force. People arriving on bus/foot can still get on site today.

The festival is expected to have five or so stages of music programming including a main stage, lakeside stage, and big top, plus a roller disco, karaoke, contemporary circus performances (tightrope walking, swinging trapeze, pole dancing), and loads more is sure to be planned.

In 2010 the festival will be 100% powered by renewable energy, by the wind, sun, waste veg oil and pedalling!

There are also independent films, workshops, talks and debates, comedy, a fresh organic market, fair trade coffee, practical demonstrations, speaker's corner, site art (an art trail and a range of get-involved sculptures), survival courses, a real ale and cider bar with a beer garden, multiple stages and lots of fancy dress.

Tickets have sold out.
