£70 for the weekend with camping - SOLD OUT
Paolo Nutini has been unveiled as the Friday night headline at Loopallu which takes place in a fortnight on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th September 2010 at Ullapool, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland.
"Paolo wanted to play because he is the kind of guy who doesn't forget people who have helped him out. Back when Paolo was about 16, Robert gave him gigs all over the north of Scotland when it was hard to get gigs, just because he liked the music and is always keen to help new acts. So the chance to return the favour was too good to miss, seeing one of the biggest artists in Europe right now in a tent playing to 2500 people will be great for fans." said Paolo's manager Brendan Moon.
Festival Director Robert Hicks added, "Words cant describe my excitement in having Paolo, one of the biggest artists on the planet, coming to headline this years Loopallu. Everyone morning for months now I've rechecked the confirmation email to make sure I'm not been imagining it, and in two weeks that dream will come true. It also marks a welcome return to Ullapool for Paolo who last played five years ago, and coincidently met local sound engineer Graham 'Hutch' Hutchinson who has toured the world with him ever since. Once again Loopallu has delivered a world beating headliner, and proves at only 2500 capacity, small is definitely beautiful."
Other acts appearing over the weekend are Saturday night headliners The Magic Numbers. Plus Idlewild, Turin Brakes, Aberfeldy, Mt Desolation featuring Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin (who are better known in their roles with Keane), Kassidy, Adrian Edmondson and the Bad Shepherds, The Vatersay Boys, Skerryvore, Rachel Sermanni, Carly Connor, Silver Columns, James Mackenzie and the Aquascene, and Ullapool act Copperdrift.
The festival returns for its sixth outing this September and has a 2500 capacity. Situated in the pretty little fishing village of Ullapool on the shores Loch Broom Loopallu has activities for all ages in addition to the music. The festival also offers local food and drink along with fringe events throughout the village.
Tickets for Loopallu have sold out.
