tickets on sale today for Simple Minds Forest Tour'

Tickets go on sale from 9am today for Simple Minds 'Greatest Hits Forest Tour' for next summer as part of The Forestry Commission's 2011 Forest Tours.

The band will be playing hits like 'Alive and Kicking’, 'Sanctify Yourself', 'Don't You (Forget About Me)', 'Promised You A Miracle', 'Waterfront' and 'Belfast Child' songs which established Simple Minds.

Simple Minds Greatest Hits will be released Spring 2011. Commenting on the tour, Jim Kerr for Simple Minds said, "We've never done the forest gigs before so we are really looking forward to performing in such beautiful places."

Special guest support for all dates will be Starsailor front man James Walsh.

Fri 24 June Dalby Forest, nr Pickering, North Yorks.
Sat 25 June Cannock Chase Forest, Nr Rugeley, Staffordshire.
Sun 03 July Delamere Forest, Delamere, Cheshire.

The Forestry Commission is committed to taking woodlands to new audiences and making them relevant to people in new ways. The forest tour is self-sustaining, paying for itself, and any profit generated goes back into improving woodlands for both wildlife and the public to enjoy.

Money generated by Forestry Commission Live Music ticket sales is spent directly on the nation's woodlands, benefiting everything from butterflies to mountain bikers.
