Linkin Park, and Robyn head up the first acts to be announced for Norway's Hove Festival.

Linkin Park
Linkin Park will for the first time play Norway. They almost appeared in 2003 when they were listed for Norwegian Wood. But the band had to cancel at the last moment, and now eight year later they finally will make an appearance at Hove Festival this summer.

The first acts to be confirmed are Linkin Park, Robyn, The Vaccines, Gold Panda, All Time Low, Kylesa, and Anna Calvi.

With local acts Turns, John Olav Nilsen & Gjengen, and Jesse Jones also confirmed.

Hove Festival mixes international acts with Norwegian bands in a unique setting on Tromøya island outside Arendal city. The event lasts five days with the sun only setting for two hours each night. The dates for 2011 are Tuesday 28th June until Friday 1st July.

The Hove Festival was the first festival outside of Britain to join Festival Republic, the organizers involved with Reading/Leeds Festival, and Latitude.

Hove Festival tries to set new standards for environmental awareness and campers must sign eco-contract that promises not to leave a 'single footprint' behind. Besides the music there's art installations, scenes, yet-to-be-released movies and ecological food.

A festival pass is priced at 2250 NOK (approx £242) including camping, or 2150 NOK without camping. To buy tickets, click here.
