Fleet Foxes, and Villagers for Eden Sessions 2011

Fleet Foxes, and Villagers are the first acts to be confirmed for Cornwall's Eden Sessions.

The harmonic Seattle six-piece Fleet Foxes, will play Eden off the back of their much-anticipated second album 'Helplessness Blues', which is due to be released on Monday 2nd May and play the Eden Sessions, one of six evenings of popular music in the beautiful surroundings of the Eden Project in Cornwall, on Friday 1st July.

Fleet Foxes blend West Coast harmonies with a European baroque sensibility and many have drawn comparisons with legendary acts such as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and the Beach Boys. The band themselves have described their sound as "baroque, harmonic pop jams".

Dublin folk collective Villagers come to the Eden Sessions following the release of their debut record 'Becoming a Jackal' which bagged a Mercury Prize nomination last year and hit the top of the UK Indie and Irish album charts.

Tjarko Wieringa, Eden Sessions Creative Director, said: "Fleet Foxes have created a unique, unmistakable sound and their beautiful harmonies will make for a very atmospheric show in the shadow of the Biomes. Following their Mercury nomination, Villagers are definitely a band to get excited about and their sound will complement the headliners perfectly.

Tickets for Fleet Foxes Eden Session will be be priced at £37.50 and will go on sale at 6pm on Friday 18th February, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.

The Eden Sessions are now in their tenth year. The Sessions are famed not only for bringing top acts to Cornwall but also for their festival feel, with extra bands and entertainers playing around the site in the run-up to the main event. Massage and alternative therapies will also be showcased around Eden on the day of each Session.
