Show of Hands frontman Steve Knightley will top the bill on the second day of the new winter Frome Folk Festival which will take place at The Cheese and Grain, Frome in Somerset over two days on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th February 2012.

Show Of Hands
Exeter-based Steve, will next year celebrate 20 years of his partnership with Phil Beer when Show of Hands play the Royal Albert Hall for a fourth time. The songwriter also has a successful solo career and Frome Folk Festival will offer an opportunity to see him take to the stage solo.

At Frome, Steve will be supported by fellow musician duos from the West Country. Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin from Devon and, from Bath, Show of Hands' unofficial third member double bassist and vocalist Miranda Sykes who has joined forces with mandolin maestro Rex Preston.

Frome Folk Festival will run from 9am until 11pm both days. The line-up includes Saturday headliners Spiers & Boden, plus Bella Hardy, Jenna, Sean Lakeman and Kathryn Roberts, Luke Jackson, Dyer Cummings, and Tim Edey & Brendan Power.

The festival is the brainchild of West Country music promoter Jan Ayers, who successfully brought a folk festival back to Bristol after 32 years this spring.

Jan said, "We're delighted to announce the fabulous Spiers and Boden as our first headliners – their Bellowhead gig in Frome in November was the first to sell out on their upcoming tour so here's another chance to catch them in town."

Early Bird weekend tickets are priced at £58 (£48 concessions). A family weekend ticket for two adults and 2 children (aged under 15) is priced at £190. To buy tickets, click here.

For those wishing to camp, there will be provision locally for tents and camper vans. There are also numerous campsites, hotels and B&Bs in the area.

The event will also feature Ceilidhs, sing-arounds, workshops, jam sessions, Morris dancing, and market stalls.
