Rihanna to headline Wireless 2012

'Umbrella' star Rihanna is the first headliner to be announced for next year's Wireless Festival held in London's Hyde Park.

Rihanna, who appeared at this year's V Festivals, will be headlining Wireless with Barclaycard on the final night, Sunday 8th July her only UK performance of the year.

Rihanna said, "I'm so excited to be headlining Barclaycard Wireless next year! My UK fans rock and I can't wait to see them at Hyde Park!"

The Barbadian 'We Found Love' singer is currently on the European leg of her worldwide 'Loud' Tour, which kicked off in the U.S. this past summer when she also recorded her new sixth studio album, 'Talk That Talk which includes 'We Found Love', featuring Calvin Harris, as well as songs called 'Cockinees', 'Drunk On Love' and 'Ride Me Out', and is set for release this month.

Entering its eighth year Wireless will take place from Friday 6th until Sunday 8th July 2012.

Wireless promoter Steve Homer from Live Nation is looking forward to another outstanding year in the capital. He said, "Following our most successful Wireless to date in 2011, we are delighted that Rihanna will headline the festival on Sunday 8 July 2012. Confirming Rihanna for her only UK performance next year reinforces our reputation as a major player on the festival circuit."

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 18th November, and will be priced at £52.50. eFestivals will have links to buy tickets when they go on sale.
