Any Glastonbury Festival fans reading today's Sun had to double check the date after their latest Festival 'news' story, (here), suggesting washing machines would be installed for the Festivals older fans in 2013.

The story by Gordon 'not so' Smart says:
"Mud Loving Glasto-goers' heads will be spinning at the latest innovation.

Festival boss Michael Eavis has agreed to install washing machines at the Worthy Farm site.

Now mud-caked kecks will be a thing of the past with fans able to get them freshly laundered when the festival returns in 2013.

Organisers are planning to introduce them on site so fans of the festival can hit the Pyramid stage looking like rock stars.

Glastonbury's operations director, Melvin Benn, said: "Older fans are getting far more demanding and we have to respond. That means better toilets and now washing machine facilities
."
What was clearly a joke by Mr Benn has been misinterpreted as fact, and eFestivals can confirm the story is complete bollox. eFestivals has spoken to a Festival spokesman, who told us exclusively that there's no truth in the story, in fact Glastonbury Festival is always working hard to decrease it's water usage, not increase it, and washing machines use large amounts of water.

So, good new for the Festival regulars, who are probably wondering why the Sun would publish such an inaccurate story when it's not April Fool's Day.

Glastonbury Festival takes a year out in 2012 and returns in 2013 and will take place from Wednesday 26th until Sunday 30th June 2013. Registration for Glastonbury Festival 2013 is now open. Everyone who plans to the come the Festival must register, and that includes children aged 13, 14 and 15. Each ticket sold will feature a photograph of the person in whose name it is registered and will be non-transferable. So if you plan to buy tickets for friends or family you must make sure they all register!

Registration does not reserve or guarantee you a ticket when they go on sale some time in 2012, exact date to be confirmed, but if you don't register you will not be able to buy a weekend ticket for Glastonbury Festival 2013. If you opt to save this information you will be able to use your registration number again in future years. Make sure the e-mail address you provide is one to which you will have long term access.
