The Stone Roses have been confirmed to appear on the opening night of Portugal's Optimus Alive 2012.

The reformed band will appear on Thursday 13th July and join Radiohead, and Florence + The Machine who headline, with Caribou, Mazzy Star, and Metronomy, also confirmed. The Music and Arts festival, Optimus Alive!12, takes place in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, between Friday 13th and Sunday 15th of July, with bands starting at 5pm each day. Radiohead are the first act to be confirmed.

Tickets are on sale now at the same price as last year. That's £45 for a day ticket and £103 for 3 Day Pass with camping or £89.10 without camping. From 1st January 2012 daily pass tickets will be priced at 53 euros, while the three-day passes will be 105 euros. To buy tickets, click here.

With the Tagus River as landscape to explore the festival has arts, cafes, restaurants, as well as music on offer. There will be camping available at Alive Festival priced at around 15 euros for the 3 days, there are also plenty of other accommodation options in the city and festival goers are recommended to book accommodation in Lisbon early.
