The Roots, Hot Chip, James Blake, Fatboy Slim for Sonar

The Roots, Hot Chip, James Blake, Fatboy Slim, and Richie Hawtin lead the first acts announced for Sonar, the annual three-day music festival held in Barcelona, Spain from Thursday 14th through to Saturday 16th June.
The line-up this year also includes Amon Tobin, Squarepusher, Deadmau5, Nicolas Jaar, Luciano, Azari & III, Friendly Fires, Metronomy, Modeselektor, Mouse on Mars, Laurent Garnier, Kode 9, Cooly G, Scratcha, Austra, Jacques Greene, Jacques Lu Cont, John Talabot, Diamond Version featuring Alva Noto & Byetone + Atsuhiro Ito, Thundercat, Kutmah, Lapalux, Maya Jane Coles, Mary Anne Hobbs, Blawan, Ital, Maria Minerva, LA Vampires, Magic Touch, Peaking Lights, Julio Bashmore, Annie Mac, Trevor Jackson, When Saints Go Machine, The Suicide Of Western Culture, Darkside (Nicolas Jaar & Dave Harrington), Plapla Pinky, Psilosamples, Dago, Uner, and Supersilent feat John Paul Jones.

Sónar By Day takes place in the Center of Contemporary Culture and the Museum of Contemporary Art very near to La Rambla. It usually starts around Midday and continues until around 10pm for each of the three days of the festival. This part of the festival features live bands, DJs, multimedia art, record/clothes stalls, demonstrations, a cinema, and other activities.

Sónar by Night takes place away from the centre of Barcelona, special coaches transport festival goers to the SonarPark housing four arenas showcasing DJs, VDJs and live entertainment.
